Born and raised in one of the most dynamic Asian metropolis, Hong Kong, Melody Chu’s passion and interest in architecture has always been driven by the complex yet the poetic architectural style of the city. She strongly believes architects must speculate about the future and concern themselves with the current and the prosaic. Her works have taken great consideration upon the contemporary urban living style, and have explored innovative design and aestheticism through experimentation with different digital instruments and media.

Upon graduation from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, Melody has worked at Crab Studio under Sir Peter Cook and at Morphosis Architects under Thom Mayne. In the two years of working experience she has received many opportunities to work on a number of small to large-scale projects. Her work experience ranges from competitions, educational projects, residential to stadiums and master planning. Besides mainstream architecture, she has also gained extensive experience in interior consulting and product design. Melody is keen to explore different possibilities in the field of architectural study and practice.

She has later on pursued her M.Arch II degree at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles, and she saw her time at SCI-Arc as an ideal opportunity to continue discovering her potential in the creative field, as well as growing as a designer that has wide exposures to various architectural aestheticism and approaches.
